In this role, you will be responsible for the design, testing, further development, and optimization of electrical components and medium-voltage cable assemblies, taking into account process engineering requirements. You will work closely with external tool manufacturers, development and production partners, as well as testing laboratories such as universities, research institutes, and suppliers.
Your Responsibilities
- Development and optimization of medium-voltage products, including tool and fixture design (3D CAD, drawings, design data)
- Technical support, evaluation, and coordination with external tool suppliers
- Conducting FEM simulations as well as mechanical development and prototype testing
- Commissioning, acceptance testing, and documentation of tools, production equipment, and special fixtures
- Leading and participating in development and PLM projects, as well as interfacing between development and production
Your Profile
- Training or degree in mechanical engineering, as well as strong CAD/3D design skills (CREO)
- Experience in plastic injection molding, particularly elastomer processing (silicone, EPDM), as well as basic knowledge of aluminum machining
- Technical understanding of process engineering, electrical engineering, and relevant standards; strong practical orientation
- Very good German and good English skills, as well as proficiency with MS Office / Microsoft 365; ideally SAP knowledge (S4 Hana/ECTR)
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including collaboration with suppliers, and willingness to travel
